Why go
Huangguoshu works because of scale and access: the Baishui River drops 77.8 metres over a 101-metre-wide lip, and the park lets you into the cave behind the main curtain — a slot of walking trail where the water falls past your shoulder as a solid sheet.
The full ticket covers three zones: the main fall, the wider Doupotang upstream, and the Tianxingqiao karst garden below. Most visitors make the main fall the whole trip; the other two deserve an hour each.

Practical tips
The Water Curtain Cave is one-way and wet — poncho on, phone in a dry pocket. Peak flow months mean mist that soaks the decks even meters away. Go early for the quietest cave, and consider the shorter 'main fall only' ticket if the kids are done after one zone.
